'Lotgenoten' ('Fate-mates') focuses on the personal stories behind major Belgian disasters. Victims, relief workers and next of kin, who became 'Fate-mates' after these disasters, all have a say.
Journalist Julie Colpaert brings the human story behind the disaster into focus. The first episode is about the storm that swept over Pukkelpop in 2011. Another one covers the biggest chain collision ever known in Belgium: where more than 200 cars and trucks collided due to fog, ten people died and more than eighty were injured. Other subjects include the fire in the Antwerp Switel and the gas explosion in Gellingen.
