Goals

In the suburbs of Antwerp, two little girls want to fulfill their big dream: becoming professional football stars. Besides their dribbling skills, their ambitious outlook on life is perhaps their greatest talent. For they know that without a goal it is impossible to score.

Goals

At Luchtbal in Antwerp, there's only one thing all children want: to become a football player. So do two best friends Husna and Charlotte. They are 11 and 12 years old, live in the same apartment building, and play on the same football team. Their energy and enthusiasm is contagious and besides their obvious football talent, possibly their greatest asset in pursuing their big dream.

The neighbourhood in which they live, is a place with high levels of poverty and where it's not evident to have great aspirations. Yet these two girls do not let this stop them. On and off the pitch, they are constantly busy with the talent selections of the national football league. In a way, the ball symbolises their struggle to climb the social ladder, to realise their dreams, and eventually to become the hero of the neighbourhood.

This production came into being with the support of Flanders Tax Shelter.
